Orleans to Nantes on Eurovelo 6 (EV6). Starting at Orleans, just up the road from the first castle where we overnighted like Kings and Queens. A theme that continued through the next five hundred kilometres - castles and the best wine in the world. -

After 1000km the dream bike is just that. Sooo comfortable even after hours in the saddle. I honestly get shocked when people ask if my butt gets sore from being on my bike so long. It is a non-issue. I'm not sure if that's a lovely fat, soft, round randonneur wheel/tyre set up, the beautiful Berthoud leather seat that has softened and moulded over time, or just that my bike is a great fit? I actually don't know. But I DO know that it's my legs not my butt that gives out first!

"LA TABLE" Restaurant provided sustenance for the weary. Not just any old food and wine. There are Michelin stars for this restaurant, perfectly located right in the middle of the vineyards. A slight detour from the Eurovelo and needless to say, a glorious journey en route!
